The term 'Nitro RC Trucks' refers to they type of gas
used in most of the model remote control trucks - it actually stands for
nitro-methane. Nitro RC has been the driving force that's powered the
remote control vehicle industry - they're also the beasts that create the
addictive mini-roar sound we find so addictive and head turning.

from an RC Nitro Truck
When you choose a nitro RC truck or car, one of the
first choices you'll be selecting from includes whether to choose an on-road
or off-road vehicle. Off Road Nitro RC are the most popular and
versatile, featuring the larger gripping tries and monster truck wielding body
frames. Fuel and oil is available online or at just about any hobby shop.
These are real engines with actual moving parts - with RPM of about 40,000 and
top speeds of 40+ MPH, they really move and power up the steepest & roughest
roads.
Nitro vehicles feature some key performance
enhancing parts that put them in
a different class than electric RC vehicles.
A fuel tank, working breaks, real driveshaft with sealed pivot balls and steel
or aluminum frames for better stability. You can even swap out the pipes
and fuel mixes to get better engine performance rates. Featuring 2-stroke
engines, you'll also get to choose from 2 and even some 4-wheel drive models.

Durability is one of the biggest differences you'll
see between nitro and electric
cars and trucks. Simply put, the strengthened
adjustable body-mounts, axle carriers and reinforced body frames that are
standard on Nitro gas powered vehicles are nearly indestructible. You want
your investment to last, and with prices in the $150 - $425 range we find most
vehicles with reasonable maintenance last for years.
The fire-breathing monsters that are today's nitro
remote control trucks are one of the most addictive and satisfying we've tested.
From local tracks, backyard lots, or anywhere in the neighborhood or mountains
you can find the products offered by the top Nitro manufacturers in both
beginner & advanced kits. Most are RTR (ready to run) and can be used
straight from the box - just add fuel. Two of our favorites are both from
Traxxas - the T-Maxx and
Revo.
Most of these kits come with either NiCad or NiMH
rechargeable batteries for the radio control units. This will help your
run time last even longer. Most intermediate and advanced drivers like to
have an extra set on hand - plenty of fuel does you no good if your controller
is out of power!
