RC Trucks are our favorite all purpose remote control vehicle choice.  Easy to use and the most versatile in terms of surface needed to drive, we're in love with the choices that have come on the market for radio control trucks over the past 5 years.

While the electric battery powered trucks dominate in terms of raw overall sales, its the more powerful performance boosted gas powered trucks that really define the market.  With as much as 4-5 inches in ground clearance and independent suspension mounted on an aluminum or steel roll cage - these monster trucks are capable of speeds of up to 45 MPH, 40,000 RPM, and enough power to shoot up almost any hill.  Watch your buddies jaw drop as you scream by, do a doughnut, then hit your nitro and burst up a 7 grade hill and go airborne.  Nitro RC Trucks are the BEST!

RC Trucks - Choosing the Right one

If you're looking for a gift or starter truck, the all purpose electric remote control trucks might be just fine for your needs.  We recommend you stick with the larger scale models - typically one that is 1/8, 1/10, or 1/12 scale of the

 real truck.  Most come with rechargeable batteries for the truck itself - but some don't and require it to be purchased separately so watch yourself.

For real performance, we recommend you take a look at Nitro RC Trucks.  These run on nitro-methane fuel and are powered by awesome 2 stroke motors. 

Ground Clearance:

Trucks are generally larger than their Radio controlled car cousins - they also feature more ground clearance and are intended for rougher surfaces like dirt, gravel and low cut grass.  The tires are rougher with grips - not the smooth surfaced tires found on RC Cars.  Look for more ground clearance - its your key to avoiding getting hung up on rocks and uneven ground.  Don't get stuck - get as much clearance as you can.
